| In this way Vidyapati personally testified the mercy of Nila Madhava. After Vidyavati had finished his prayers, the sabara told him to stay close to the deity while he went out to search for roots and flowers for the adoration. |
Meanwhile the sabara was outside, vidyapati saw something incredible: "a bird that was sleeping in the branch of a tree fell dawn in the lake and drowned. Immediately he took the form of the spiritual four armed Vaikuntha, and returned to the spiritual world.
Seeing this, the Brahmana Vidyapati immediately climbed the tree, desiring liberation as well, and when he was ready to jump into the lake he heard a voice from heaven saying to him: "Oh Brahmana, now that you have been able to see the Deity of Nila Madhava you should, before anything else, inform the king Indradyumna." |
Vidyapati, desiring to reach liberation, wanted to jump from the same tree.
The Brahmana came down from the tree and waited. Soon the sabara returned with wild flowers, and started his daily worship to the Lord. While he was busy with the adoration, the Lord spoke to him as follows: My dear Visvasu for many days I have accepted your simple offerings of wildflowers and roots but now I am desiring the real service of My devotee, the king Indradyumna.''
